It's definitely a huge factor that this election saw the highest % of early voting in history, as it resulted in a more time-consuming process. This fact must be presented to any of the ignoramuses who are lobbing grenades at our Auditor.
I get not counting absentee/early ballots before election day, but why not do signature verification before since that seems to be a big time consumer. Also, although I really like the detailed explanation, I would like to know how "we" compare to other counties/states. Surely everyone deals with this and our numbers are not the largest. Is it more people and space like Leah suggested would help? Do they do things differently...and faster?
We had a huge turnout and a lot of early voting. The law requires time consuming procedures for processing early votes (which honestly is a good idea). Comparing to states that are fully electronic (and open to a lot of fraud) is probably not a reasonable comparison. Reducing the early voting period would be a huge help.
