Gary, the state party chair John Wiik calls the meeting for the SDGOP election. The meeting must have 14 days notice and be held in January or February. No one has heard from Wiik about the meeting.
First of all, I'm glad as many others are as well that Mr. Wiik is leaving the RNC.
With all due respect the State RNC has done nothing for election integrity in this state and here are some examples.
Where was the RNC when the Minnehaha County Commissioners were savagely attacking the county auditor (Leah Anderson) for doing her job, the job she was hired for?
Where has the RNC been when it comes to forwarding businesses who have been illegally allowing drifters (out of state travelers) the ability to register to vote?
Where has the RNC been when it comes to our DMV's across the state allowing illegals to register and get drivers licenses?
Where was the RNC when a Ms. Frankenstein from Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson and Ashmore LLP was marching around the state and utilizing zoom calls (at county expense) to convince county commissioners to reject petitions of their electors?
Where was the RNC when States Attorneys like Mr. Austin Hoffman was advising the McPherson County commissioners to reject petitions from their electors, or when at least 5 County Commissions rejected petitions.
Where was the RNC when the SOS office was trying to change SDCL 12-17B-3 with amendment HB1140 to take the authority away from County Commissioners to abandon vote tabulating machines?
Where was the RNC when the SOS office introduced SB20 to stifle the 1st Amendment rights of citizens?
Where was the RNC when the SOS office introduced legislation to remove the residency requirements in the state to vote?
Where was the RNC when Mr. Rick Weible proved that the majority of the tabulating machines in the state had out of date software and virus protection?
The RNC has a lot of work to do to prove to the citizens of this state that there is bonified election integrity.
Tod, the RNC is the Republican National Committee, which is of course the national party headquartered in Washington DC. The RNC has nothing to do with state or local political matters. The state party, the South Dakota Republican Party, colloquially known as the SDGOP, exists as a charter of the RNC bylaws, but the RNC is not in charge of, nor has much influence over, the SDGOP. They are separate organizations.
Traditionally, and in fact, RNC leadership is strongly influenced, or is outright selected by the last Republican President or Presidential candidate. That means Donald Trump endorsed the current RNC leaders, who were duly elected by the RNC Central Committee.
Heidi, Any idea when the SDGop state central committee will be meeting?
